Free Train Ticket

Free train trip for Canadian troops. Valid for travel between July 1 and July 31, 2008. Complimentary travel in comfort class on ANY VIA train within Canada. Up to 5 immediate family members accompanying the qualifying passenger can purchase tickets for 50% off the adult regular comfort class fair.

Require either a valid DND photo indentification card, Canadian Military Record of Service Card (ND175) or Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) benefit card or Canex card (but not for RCMP or other holders.) Presented at the ticket counter.

Reservations should be made at a ticket counter at a VIA station or by phone 1-888-VIARAIL (1-888-842-7245). Refer to the Canadian Forces Family Appreciation Fare or request discount 11279.

Note: children 2-11 also travel free.
