Check the deals and coupon codes on the right side of the page on the Thrifty Car Rental website. Sometimes they have mid-week or one day promotions that are even better than the ones listed here.
Once you get to the car reservation confirmation page, you can note the final price and click on "> Change next to Time and Place and try a different coupon code if you are not sure which one is best.
Always print off your reservation and confirmation number and bring it in - otherwise they will sometimes create a new reservation and you might end up paying slightly more.
The car rental insurance on your credit card probably isn't very good - but if your personal car insurance also covers car rentals - it might be. Either way review your policy before you turn down the Thrifty insurance.
